Topological Analysis of the Default Mode Network: a Graph Theory Approach

Graph theory defines a graph as a set of nodes (in this study, regions of interest, ROIs) and edges (functional connections). The present study aims to explore the topological properties of the Default Mode Network (DMN) in the framework of graph theory and the alterations induced on it by a cognitive task, with respect to the resting condition. The principal finding of the present study is that the default mode network of resting state condition (DMNRest) have high local efficiency of information transfer, robustness, better performance and high correlational strengths more than the default mode network cognitive task condition (DMNTask).
